Avril 2018 - A la fois "au beau milieu de tout", comme l'annonce son slogan, et de pas grand chose, entourée qu'elle est d'immenses exploitations céréalières dont beaucoup sont encore aux mains de descendants industrieux des premiers colons allemands du village, Strasburg se paie le luxe d'une prospérité tranquille dans un état qui compte parmi les plus pauvres du pays. On n'y ronronne pas pour autant : un plan décennal de "revitalisation", récemment reconduit, a permis l'ouverture en plein centre d'une station-service/épicerie dotée d'une franchise de fast-food, en face d'un bar en sous-sol ouvert tous les jours. Projet plus ambitieux encore : celui de devenir la capitale américaine du nain de jardin. Un recensement sera organisé à cet effet en 2020.

April 2018 - Being situated both "right in the middle of everything", as its slogan proclaims, and sort of in the middle of nowhere too, surrounded as it is by vast corn and soybean fields - many of which are still owned by industrious descendents of the early German settlers - Strasburg enjoys the luxury of quiet prosperity in one of the US's poorest states. There is no resting on one's laurels here, though: a revitalization project has provided for the opening of a gas station/convenience store/fast-food restaurant right in the middle of town, across the street from an underground bar that's open everyday. Strasburg's most ambitious goal is to become the country's gnome capital - a gnome census will be held in 2020 to assess progress on that front.
